How we treat your data.
What this policy covers
This privacy policy explains how Drive Fair Limited handles personal data collected through this website (drivefair.ie). It applies to this website only.
The Drive Fair driver app and the Drive Fair passenger app, when they launch, will carry their own separate privacy policies that explain how account, location, and trip data are handled. Those policies will be presented to you when you create an account in those apps.
Who we are
The data controller is Drive Fair Limited, an Irish company with its registered office at 6 Fern Road, Sandyford, Dublin, D18 FP98, Ireland. We can be reached at info@drivefair.ie.
What we collect
Through this website we collect:
- Contact form submissions. If you fill in a contact form on this website, we collect the topic you select, your email address, and the message you write. We need your email address so we can reply to you.
- Server logs. Our hosting provider keeps standard request logs for every page or API call this website serves. These contain your IP address, your user-agent string, the URL you requested, the response status, and the timestamp. We use them for security and debugging.
We do not run analytics or tracking scripts on this website. We do not use advertising cookies. We do not build a profile of you.
Why we collect it
Under the GDPR we must identify a lawful basis for processing personal data. For each kind of data above:
| What | Why | GDPR Article 6 lawful basis |
|---|---|---|
| Your email and message from the contact form | To reply to your enquiry | Legitimate interests (Art. 6(1)(f)) |
| Server logs | Security, fraud prevention, debugging | Legitimate interests (Art. 6(1)(f)) |
Where the data lives
Wherever practical, we choose EU/EEA processing regions. Server logs, contact form submissions in transit, our DNS records and our company mailbox are all handled from EU regions.
Our processors may also operate global support infrastructure outside the EU for limited purposes (e.g. abuse detection). When personal data is transferred outside the EEA, those processors rely on the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs).
How long we keep it
- Contact form emails — kept in our inbox until they are no longer relevant to our correspondence with you. If you want us to delete a specific message, please write to us.
- Server logs — retained by our hosting provider under their standard log-retention policy (typically a few weeks).
Your rights
Under the GDPR you have the right to:
- Ask us what data we hold about you (the right of access).
- Ask us to correct inaccurate data.
- Ask us to delete data we no longer have a lawful reason to keep.
- Ask us to stop processing your data for a particular purpose.
- Lodge a complaint with the Irish Data Protection Commission at 21 Fitzwilliam Square South, Dublin 2, D02 RD28 — www.dataprotection.ie.
To exercise any of these rights, write to info@drivefair.ie.
Cookies and tracking
We do not set tracking cookies or run analytics scripts on this website. Our hosting platform may set short-lived functional cookies that are necessary for security and routing; these do not require consent under EU rules because they are strictly necessary for the service to function.
Children
This website is not directed at children under 16. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children through it. If you believe we have collected data about a child, please contact us and we will delete it.
Changes
We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will note the new effective date at the top of this page. Material changes will be flagged on the website.
