Who we are

Drive Fair is a small Irish company. We’ve spent years building software and watching Irish taxi drivers get squeezed by ride-hailing apps that take a cut of every fare, set prices algorithmically, and deactivate drivers without explanation. We didn’t think any of that had to be true.

Drive Fair Limited is registered in Dublin. The team is small and reachable — write to info@drivefair.ie and a real person reads it.

Why we’re building this

The Irish taxi trade is one of the most regulated transport industries in Europe — drivers hold a Small Public Service Vehicle (SPSV) licence, the vehicle holds a taxi licence, and fares are set by the National Transport Authority. The regulator already did the hard work. The platforms that came along on top of that simply inserted themselves between the driver and the passenger and started taking a percentage.

Drive Fair is the opposite shape of that. Passengers pay the meter directly to the driver, cash or card. We don’t touch the fare. The driver keeps it. Our job is to be the dispatch — to put a passenger and a driver in front of each other when otherwise they couldn’t see each other on the street.

How the platform works

A passenger requests a ride in the Drive Fair passenger app. We broadcast the job to drivers nearby. The first available driver accepts. The passenger meets a real, plated, regulated taxi at the kerb and pays the driver the meter at the end of the trip.

Drive Fair is a dispatch platform, simply there to connect you with passengers. We never decide who gets work and who doesn’t, we will never promote surge pricing and more importantly — we’ll never cheapen your valuable work by giving discounts on your behalf. The fare is the fare, full stop. Read the full set of promises in our charter.

Regulatory posture

Drive Fair operates within the SPSV regulatory framework set by the National Transport Authority of Ireland. Every driver on the platform must hold a current SPSV licence and a valid taxi licence on a roadworthy vehicle. Tariffs are set and reviewed by the NTA — we do not modify them.

Personal data is handled under the GDPR. Where practical, EU processing regions are used. The full details are in our website privacy policy. When the Drive Fair driver and passenger apps launch, they will carry their own dedicated privacy policies covering account, location, and trip data.
